Wiesbaden: construction site chaos! Full closures bring traffic to a standstill

From Monday, May 5, 2025, comprehensive construction work will start in Wiesbaden, which will significantly influence the traffic situation in several streets by May 24th. The Adelheidstraße and the Karlstraße are particularly affected, where the full closure will last for almost three weeks. The reason for this measure is civil engineering work for the production of house connections. However, pedestrians can continue to use their usual ways, while cyclists have to expect restrictions.

In the Jahnstraße , from Tuesday, May 6th, to Wednesday, May 7th, it will be a further closure. The preparation of a crane is on the program here. Road users have to adjust to a detour, since the one -way regulation between Karlstrasse and Wörthstraße is temporarily lifted.

further closures and restrictions

also in the frogkönigweg residents must count on a full closure from Monday, May 5th to Tuesday, May 6th. This is necessary to carry out work on the roof structure. However, residents can get to their land via the Aschenbrödelweg and the Frau-Holle-Weg.

In Nordenstadt, the Feldschützstraße between house numbers 4 and 6 will also be completely closed from May 5th to May 23rd to create a house connection. This measure to ensure supply lines is expected to take several weeks.

An important further section concerns the Rhine bank , which will be closed to renovation work on Thursday, May 8, from 8 p.m. to Friday, 9:00 p.m. Bike and pedestrians are particularly affected here.

In addition, Glöcknerstraße in Igstadt between house numbers 1 and 10 from Monday, May 5th to May 13th is expected to be fully blocked to advance fiber optic expansion. A signposted detour will help the road users to bypass the construction site.

long -term measures for drinking water supply

In parallel to the current construction sites, the Biebricher Allee has been working on important civil engineering work since Monday, January 27th to meet the increasing need for drinking water. This work had to be postponed by a week due to material bottlenecks and late deliveries of shaft plants. In this area there is a complete blocking of Weihergasse for vehicles, while pedestrians and cyclists are safely guided past the construction site. The comprehensive measures to ensure drinking water supply are expected to be completed by Friday, February 14th.

Additional restrictions are planned during the coming summer vacation, which also requires a crossing of the biebricher avenue . Road users are urgently asked to use diversions and, if necessary, plan more time to bypass the construction sites.

The last relevant construction site concerns the Neckarstraße , which is closed to a new water pipe for civil engineering until the end of April. The section between Moselstrasse and Wupperstrasse is affected. The work is divided into two construction phases and each require a complete block. Pedestrians are not affected here, while drivers should also pay attention to signposted diversions to avoid delays.
