Judoclub Wimpassing triumphs with 9 medals at championships!

On March 2, 2025, athletes from the Judo Club Wimpassing Sparkasse organized two important tournaments in WR. Neudorf. The successes of the judoka were particularly impressive: in total they won 9 medals at the state championship of the age groups U18 and U23. This result shows not only the talent, but also the dedication of the young athletes of the club.

Another highlight was the Lower Austria Kyuturnier, which attracted 228 starters from 23 different clubs. The fights took place in the age groups U10 to U14. Here, the judoka were divided into two groups according to their skills: up to the yellow belt and between yellow belt and orange belt.

  • Cismar Julian and Schober Peter fought (-42kg) in the same weight class, Julian won twice and won.
  • Rella Leo (-24kg) won all three fights and took 1st place.
  • Weinzettl Paul (-24kg) reached the 3rd place with a win.
  • Karabat Melissa (-28kg) posted a victory, but received no medal.
  • Akcil Defne (-36kg), Magdalin Eduard-Matteo (-27kg) and Supin Katharina (-25kg) gained campaign experiences, but could not win a medal.

in the U12, Islamovic Nedim (-50kg) sat down in the 2nd place with a win and a defeat. In the U14, Balikci Fatih competed in the higher weight class up to 60kg and fortunately secured the 2nd place.

After the Lower Austria Kyuturnier, the Lower Austria Cup of Age Associations U18 and U23 followed. Here six judoka from the Judoclub Wimpassing Sparkasse, including three U18 athletes, who also started in the U23.

Vakil Christoph (-55kg) was able to win all battles in both age groups and thus became national champion. Seiser Thomas (-66kg) won 3rd place in the U18 and U23. Vrabetz Alexander (-73kg) won in the U18 and became Vizelandesmeister in the U23. Arslan Hozan (-73kg) secured a medal in the U23 after a defeat in the semi-finals.

In addition, Weitzbauer Niklas (-81kg) and Greiner Christian (-90kg) won the national championship title in their weight classes of the U23.
