Carnival legend Jörg Schönke receives Gold Order to say goodbye!

Carnival legend Jörg Schönke receives Gold Order to say goodbye!

On March 10, 2025, Jörg Schönke was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federation of German Carnival in Gold with brilliant. The honor was given to him during a reception by the state government of Saxony-Anhalt for deserved carnivalists. Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann, the deputy of the Prime Minister and Minister of Science, Energy, Climate Protection and the Environment, presented the award and thus praised the beautiful long -term merits of the carnival. Dubishalle reports that Jörg Schönke as president or vice president of the carnival club Halle-Neustadt for more than 40 years (C2HN) e.V. was active, which he founded in 1985.

Schönke was also active in the Presidium of the Carnival Association for 33 years, of which he acted for 15 years as a protocol chief. As a moderator, he accompanied all 33 Rose Monday removals of the city of Halle. With the resignation as President, Schönke goes into the "foolish retirement", but remains the club as an honorary member and will continue to help him with advice and action.

The award comes at the same time as the 40th anniversary of the Carnevals Club Halle-Neustadt C2HN e.V., which started on November 11, 2024 in the 40th session. In 2025, the club celebrates its anniversary with new costumes and plans to support various events to support its dance groups. C2HN is grateful for the positive response to a successful weekend with three events and informs that the evening event was sold out on March 1st, while tickets are still available for the children's carnival.

In a further step, Jörg Schönke was not only honored with the order "thanks & recognition", but also appointed an honorary member of the Carnival Landesverband Sachsen-Anhalt. This award took place as part of the annual skin assembly of the Carnival Association in Großpaschleben. The association's delegates also noted the presentation of the new state prince couple from Saxony-Anhalt, Prince Paul I. and Victoria I from the Höhnstedter Carneval Club "Blau-Gold" e.V.

The initiatives of the C2HN to promote carnival customs are rounded off by numerous support programs such as gooding and gofundme with which the club wants to increase its funds without causing additional costs for the helpers. The commitment of Schönke and his association for the care and preservation of these traditions will continue to be of great importance in the future.
