Children for climate justice: Conference in Bad Hersfeld!

From April 4 to April 6, 2025, the Plant-for-the-Planet children's conference takes place in the Bad Hersfeld youth hostel, in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district. This special event is aimed at children between the ages of 9 and 14 and offers you the opportunity to actively work on solutions for the climate crisis. The participants are not only introduced to the challenges of climate change, but also learn how to make individual contributions to bring about positive changes. The conference includes an extensive program with rhetoric workshops, lectures and a tree planting campaign that strengthens the children's commitment to the environment. Participation is free of charge, but the foundation asks for donations to cover the total costs of around 120 euros per participant, whereby a recommended donation contribution of 40 euros per person is proposed.

Families who have financial difficulties in travel expenses are invited to contact the organizers. Registrations for the conference are already possible and can be made via the website www.pp.eco/an-kiko . If you have any questions, the team is available at the e-mail address empowerment@plant-for-the-planet.org

The organizers of the conference

The children's conference is organized by Sarah and Jule, two committed ambassadors for climate justice who got to know each other at an earlier children's conference. Jule, which originally comes from Hamburg, has a long history in organization and participation in children's conferences. She studies international human rights and is actively committed to planting trees and keeping lectures on climate change.

In her free time, Jule enjoys walks with her dog Pelle in the forest and tries to bake traditional Hamburg Franzbrötchen. She is looking forward to getting to know the participants of the conference in April and sharing their experiences on environmental protection.

The role of children in the climate movement

The growing role of children in society cannot be overlooked. As different studies show, children have a controlling function within their families. They are actively committed to environmental protection and contribute to the formation of shopping behavior and waste separation in their households. Children show a strong awareness of the future and stand up for the world in which they want to live. They find environmental protection important and are often a driving force for changes in their parents' house.

This conference not only offers the children a platform for discussion, but also encourages them to use information and arguments to underpin their views. By learning and commitment to the Plant-for-the-Planet Conference, participants can lay the foundation for a more sustainable life. Bühlende Austria emphasizes that children often think less about the past and focus on the future.
