The investigators hope that information can lead to the identification of the perpetrator.

Witness call

The police relies on the public support to clarify the incident. People who were in the sports hall in Blies quantities and possibly have seen something are asked to report. Again and again there are conflicts during such public events, which is also a current topic in police crime statistics.

The police crime statistics show that violent crime in Germany has experienced a worrying increase. In 2023 there were 214,099 cases of violent crime, which has been the highest level since 2007. This trend is also reflected in the number of suspects that have risen to 190,605 in the area of violent crime.

Overall, crime increased by 5.5 % in 2023. This can be attributed to various factors, including increased mobility after the Covid 19 restrictions are absent as well as economic and social stress that affect many people. The police have therefore increased their presence at public events to avoid such incidents and to ensure security.

The Homburg police inspection can be reached at Eisenbahnstraße 40, 66424 Homburg, and also offers the opportunity to contact us by email at pi-homburg@polizehpol.de for media representatives and interested citizens who want more information.

The above data from the nationwide crime statistics illustrate how important it is to work with the police to increase public security and to counteract the increasing violence curve. Now it is time for the community to come together and help to prevent such incidents.
