Kotten butteresses: Lüttringhausen celebrates commitment and cohesion!
On January 11, 2025, the traditional Kottenbutteressen of the Lüttringhauser Heimatbund took place in the Helene Härtel-Buchmann-Haus of the Tannenhof Foundation. This event was an important platform to bring representatives of various institutions together, since the discussion of relevant topics was of great importance. Over 100 guests, including local politicians and officials, took part in the event. The Mayor Burkhard Mast-Weisz and the home association chairman Bernhard Hoppe, who welcomed those present with impressive greetings, were particularly noteworthy.
The event emphasized the successful cooperation between the institutions and showed the common goals. Those present appreciated the positive reviews of the successful events of the past year.
traffic projects and future plans
A central topic of the discussion was the conversion of the Eisernstein traffic junction to the roundabout. The head of the building department Peter Heinze presented the progress of the project, which fortunately is better than planned. Legal head Barbara Reul-Nocke also announced that apartments for up to 120 people should be created at the former Lüttringhauser train station. The city will rent these premises for 15 years to accommodate refugees.
The construction of the module buildings and the renovation of the train station should begin at the same time. The investor's obligation to complete within 18 months of receiving the building permit was emphasized as a further positive step in this matter.
honors and perspectives
Ralf Bäcker, a former police district officer, was also awarded the honorary letter and the badge of honor of the home association as part of the Kotten butter meal. This honor recognizes his committed work in the community. Another highlight of the evening was the honor of Michael Ptok, which was honored for almost 40 years of active service in the Lüttringhausen volunteer fire brigade. Fire chief Guido Eul-Jordan praised his outstanding merits and presented him with the golden badge of honor.A special event that many are looking forward to is the 100th anniversary of the Lüttringhausen citizens' association, which is planned for June 27 and 28, 2025. In addition, the upcoming federal elections on February 13 were discussed. Bernhard Hoppe and Mayor Burkhard Mast-Weisz called the people present for the election of democratic parties and emphasized the importance of civic engagement in local politics.
The commitment, as described in the Enquete Commission "Future of Civic Engagement", is a central part of these events. It is not just about political decisions, but also about promoting the interaction between citizens and the institutions in the region. About a third of the Germans volunteer, which is reflected in the high number of participants of the event.
Overall, the Kotten butter dinner was a successful event that focused not only tradition, but also the future of the local community. It made it clear how important the exchange and cooperation between citizens, politics and institutions are for the common good.
