In addition, the digital participation is also promoted by initiatives such as the Makerlabs project by Save the Children that started in 2019. This project follows the approach of supporting children and adolescents from difficult social conditions through creative learning and the joint use of digital tools. The focus is on the development of digital skills and IT skills. It is placed great emphasis on the participation of the children, which through the new project section "Makerlabs II -. has been reinforced since October 2023.
Overall, these initiatives show how important it is to use digital technologies sustainably and at the same time promote social educational offers. The District of Herford makes a valuable contribution to this vision, which not only benefits the individual users, but also of the entire society.
