preparation for the half marathon

For many hobby runners, the half marathon with a distance of 21.1 kilometers is an attractive destination. Fit for Fun states that preparation for such a competition requires a progressive increase in scope and speed. In the last three weeks before the race, however, the scope should be reduced.

The training methods for preparing for a half marathon are diverse. The common constant running, speed -based units and special driving games include the common continuous run. These variations help to improve endurance and increase the pace. A typical training plan for the half marathon extends over 10 to 12 weeks and should include at least three running units per week. At least 12 to 14 kilometers should also be able to run in a row to be well prepared.

according to Runners World It is important that runners who want to take part in a half marathon have a certain endurance basis. The selection of the right training plan should be based on the current performance. In this way, both beginners and experienced runners can achieve their individual goals.

Sufficient regeneration, sleep and healthy eating are also crucial for optimal preparation for competition. If overwhelmed, it can be advisable to postpone the competition in order to build a solid basic endurance and be successful in the long term.
