Motorcycle accident in Lindlar: Dramatic collision causes excitement!

On the evening of April 3, 2025, around 6:50 p.m. on the street "Reudenbach" (K29) in Lindlar, towards Unterbersten, there was a traffic accident in which a motorcyclist remained fleeting. A 34-year-old woman from Lindlar was involved in the incident, who was unexpectedly pressed by a second motorcyclist. While the first motorcycle passed accident -free, the second motorcycle was on the woman's lane, which led to a danger braking. The driver of the motorcycle accelerated dramatically after his passenger turned to a woman, which further escalated.

After the incident, the traffic commissioner Wipperfürth is looking for witnesses in order to be able to fully inform the events. The officials can be contacted on 02261 8199-0 or the email address poststelle.oberbergischer-kreis@polizei.nrw.de.

The risks of motorcycling

motora accidents are a serious problem in Germany. According to the ADAC, motorcyclists have a significantly higher risk of accident than drivers. In 2019 alone, 28,426 motorcyclists had an accident in Germany. The accident statistics show that the risk of suffering serious injuries as a motorcyclist is four times as high as for drivers. Particularly frightening is the data situation that says that almost every fourth traffic accident affects motorcycles outside of towns, with 33% of these accidents being sole accidents

Young drivers between the ages of 15 and 24 are particularly at risk. The most common injuries to motorcycle accidents are traumatic brain trauma, thorax trauma and extremity injuries. Interestingly, 67% of accidents are collisions with other road users. The most common causes of such accidents are not adapted to the speed and driving errors.

technical and infrastructural measures to improve security

In order to increase safety on the streets for motorcyclists, technical security measures such as cornering, traction control and distance control are recommended. These could help reduce the number of accidents. In addition, infrastructure measures such as visual improvements in dangerous intersections and tempo lessons in critical areas could play an important role.

motor charging drivers should also pay attention to adequate protective clothing and carry out regular security checks of their vehicles. According to the recommendations of the ADAC, driving safety training also makes sense to optimize the driving style and to minimize the risk of accidents.
