Music for everyone: Zweibrücken's brass classes warmly welcome!

The Stadtkapelle Zweibrücken opens up new opportunities for music enthusiasts: On January 16, 2025, it invites you to the wind classes, which has been attracting numerous interested teammates since its foundation in 2017. The aim of the initiative is to bring (again) beginners and newcomers to bring the joy of making music closer and to promote active exchange within the musical community. Almost 40 musicians have already participated in these classes that act as a place for creative development and learning together.

The first wind class was launched in 2017 and the second followed in 2022. Janis Külchen, who has been leading the two classes for a year, brings with it a variety of experiences. In addition to his time in the Federal Music Corps of the Federal Republic of Germany, he is enthusiastic about classical brass music. Külchen encourages former musicians to become active and take part. He wants to give all ages and musical backgrounds a chance to rediscover the world of music.

training opportunities and musical repertoire

The focus is currently on various instruments such as clarinets, saxophones, flute and trumpets. Even trombones, horns and tuba find their place in the wind classes. Participants have the opportunity to borrow instruments, which makes it easier to get started. The rehearsals take place every Saturday in the auditorium of the former secondary school north. The entry-level wind class rehearses from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., while the advanced course will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The planned repertoire includes a wide range, with the focus on classical and classic brass music pieces. The play "Friderikus-Rex-Grenadier-Marsch" is currently being rehearsed to perform it at the annual concert, which will take place on September 13, 2025 under the motto "Germany".

music not only plays an important role in the wind class, it is also an important part of the creative education of children. In this context, another initiative emphasizes how children not only find their creative expression through experimenting with sounds and musical instruments, but can also develop social skills. As the page describes per daycare, music is created by listening, moving and exploring sounds. Talks about what is heard can stimulate the imagination of the children and promote emotional communication, which uses music as a space of encounter that is also important for the younger generation.

The Stadtkapelle Zweibrücken not only offers a place for adults of music enthusiasts, but also arouses interest in music in children at an early stage. In both cases, the exchange and community music music are central elements that contribute to promoting a lively music culture.
