Mußbach is preparing for spectacular triathlon return!

On June 15, 2025, the Turnverein Mußbach organizes its 32nd triathlon. This event returns to the Neustadter Stadium after two years and promises to offer an excellent platform for athletes from different countries. In an exciting night, a maximum of seven triathletes will swim on a 50-meter railway in the stadium pool, including two participants from South Africa. The police will be present throughout the event to ensure the security of all participants.

A total of around 420 participants from eleven nations are expected for the triathlon, which ensures a colorful and international atmosphere. Among the athletes can be found both popular athletes and top athletes, including well-known names such as Julian Ehrhardt, the winner of the BASF Triathlon Cup Rhein-Neckar 2018, as well as the cycling legend Udo Bölts. German champions such as Jonas Hoffmann, Jana Binninger and Franziska Fleck will also be at the start. TV board member Dieter Hackbeil emphasizes that the return to the Gymnastics Club Mußbach is particularly important due to the clubhouse and the family atmosphere.

route and fundraising campaign

The triathlon is held as a sprint distance. The athletes swim 750 meters in the Neustadter stadium pool, followed by a 21 -kilometer long bike route that leads through various places and vineyards and finally returns to Mußbach. The running route is made up of two rounds of 2.5 kilometers in Mußbach. For each starting field, one euro will also be donated to the Lebenshilfe association for people with intellectual disabilities, which underlines the social responsibility of the event.

The event also serves as the start of the BASF Triathlon Cup Rhein-Neckar, which includes a total of five competitions. The next competition will take place on June 9th in Maxdorf and promises to revitalize the triathlon season in the region.

In addition, the event receives an extra context through the new statistics page of the PTO, which provides data at over 1,000 triathlon races and almost 6,000 professional athletes. This platform enables the transparency of data behind rankings and results, which could also be of interest to the participants of the Mussbach triathlon. The detailed statistics and rankings are a valuable resource to pursue the athletes' performance over the course of the season
