Natural project in Müden: Prime Minister Schweitzer enthusiastic!

On May 11, 2025, the “Fascination Krabaun” festival took place in the former tired wine location, in which numerous prominent guests, including Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer, were present. This event marked the beginning of an important project to promote flora and fauna, which was initiated by the old men of SV Grün-Weiß tired. The aim of the project is to help the domestic flora and fauna sustainably by converting the previously unused vineyard resort "on the Krabaun" into a nature reserve. This location is ideal for the natural project, which should have a positive impact on biodiversity in the region.

The commitment of SV Grün-Weiß Tired shows how important local initiatives are for nature conservation. The Prime Minister praised the initiative and emphasized the need to support such projects in order to help nature and the adjacent communities. This approach is also reflected in other nature conservation projects, such as in the Sielmanns Naturlandschaft Groß Schauener Seen in Brandenburg.

anniversary of the Sielmanns Naturlandschaft

recently the Sielmann's natural landscape of Groß Schauener Lakes in Storkow (Mark) celebrated an anniversary. Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck was also present here. He praised the commitment of the Heinz Sielmann Foundation, which decisively contributed to the fact that the area did not get into private hands. Foundation board Michael Spielmann informed those present about the previous successes and future projects of the association, which aim to further protect and maintain the natural landscape.

A highlight of the celebration was the opening of a new exhibition in the rooms of the Köllnitz fishing. This exhibition, which is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offers extensive information about the natural landscape and sensual nature experiences for visitors. In the future, the foundation will take over the nature conservation supervision of 50 hectares on the Groß Schauener Seekette, whereby the protection of breeding areas for rare water birds and habitats for otters focus. These are just a few examples of the numerous nature conservation actions that have been successfully carried out for 10 years now.

meaning of nature conservation in Germany

In Germany, there are currently about 2.7 million hectares under nature conservation, which is about 6.5 percent of the country, including marine areas. The importance of effective nature conservation is continuously underlined by environmental politicians, such as Environment Minister Steffi Lemke, which highlights the need for renaturation projects for climate protection and flood protection. In addition, studies show that renaturation measures, for example in fluids, promote positive developments in nature.

The example of the Sielmanns Naturlandschaft and the “Fascination Krabaun” project are evidence of how committed initiatives in cooperation with politics and the community can preserve the existing nature and at the same time create valuable habitats. The challenges in nature conservation are complex, but the commitment of local people offers hope for a more sustainable and versatile environment.
