New project Caridrobs: Drug advice for young people in Neubrandenburg!

In Neubrandenburg and Rostock, Caridrobs was launched new drug advice, which is aimed specifically at young people. The project is financed by the German Pension Insurance North and aims to facilitate access to addiction aid for young people. The initiative is entitled "#Jugend.suche.Auswege" and is based on a comprehensive online survey among young consumers, relatives and experts who examined the challenges and needs of this group. According to [Nordkurier], the focus is on clear recommendations from the survey: it requires more support and low -threshold access to advice.

The creation of a trusting environment is particularly important because many young people often do not take the problem of their drug use seriously. Caridrobs follows a different approach than conventional drug consultations by offering non -binding and low -threshold entrances for advice. Advice is also available for relatives who are worried about the youngsters.

trusting relationships and prevention

Felix Sugint, a social worker, underlines the importance of trust in working with young people. He emphasizes that many of those affected have not yet developed addiction and that it is therefore more important to build a stable relationship than offer quick solutions. The conversations are often held outside the office to create a relaxed atmosphere in which young people can speak openly about their problems. Sugint is bound to confidentiality and ensures that all inquiries are treated anonymously and confidentially. The advice aims to educate young people about the risks of drug use and to encourage them to think about their consumption behavior.

society often sees alcohol as acceptable, which influences the perception of drug use for many young people. According to [NDR], a critical argument is therefore often missing. In order to reinforce the effect of the initiative, Caridrobs is working on building networks in different districts. This is intended to help young people make access easier to support.

Future of drug advice

Despite the low response to Caridrobs so far, there are positive signals from the community. School social workers and other multipliers show interest. Minister of Health Stefanie Drese expresses concern about the uncritical attitude of society for alcohol consumption, especially with regard to the increasing figures for medical treatments due to drug abuse. In particular, the number of treatments for abuse of cocaine has increased by over 30 percent according to the Barmer Health Insurance Fund.

Financing for Caridrobs expires at the end of the year. In order to maintain the project in the long term, new donors must be won. This underlines the need to create low -threshold and accessible drug advice for young people in order to identify and treat early risks and problems before occurring more serious consequences.

It remains to be hoped that the Caridrobs initiative can develop further to offer important help and support for the young people in Neubrandenburg and Rostock. The drug advice is currently available on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., both by phone and by email.
