New Year's reception in Hornbach: Mayor Hohn presents exciting plans!

On January 1, 2025, the traditional New Year's reception took place in Hornbach. This year, the newly elected Mayor Thomas Hohn (FDP), who came into office in June 2024, looked back on the past and upcoming developments in the city.

The event, in which around 100 visitors were present, including district administrator Susanne Ganster (CDU), did not take place in the historic town hall, but in the Pirminiushalle. Mayor Hohn addressed the challenges that the year 2025 will bring. These include the construction of a kindergarten, the creation of a new building area and the continuation of the inner -city road expansion.

In economic terms, the mayor reported on the doubling of trade tax revenue and the upcoming opening of a DM market. Another project includes the planned open-air photovoltaic system at the Bickenaschbacher Hof, which is intended to generate income of 40,000 euros per year. At the end of his speech, the mayor emphasized that the Hotel "Hornbach monastery" celebrates its 25th anniversary in May 2025 and has already received a Michelin key. District Administrator Ganster emphasized the good connections to the monastery city of Hornbach and the support of the district.
