New Year's concert enthusiastic: full church and great music in Neustadt!

On January 1, 2025, a New Year's concert took place in the Trinity Church in Neustadt am Kulm, which was organized by the Evangelical parish. The event was able to refer to a high number of visitors, which filled the church's benches. Pastor Hartmut Klausfelder and German Herath, chairman of the "Kulmianer" men's choir, were pleased with the great interest of those present.

The concert offered a "musical menu in 15 courses", which was designed by vocal and instrumental ensembles from the Kulm region. Trombone choirs from Neustadt and Frankenberg/Wirbenz presented classical spiritual music, including works by composers such as Saint-Saëns, Handel, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Kirkpatrick. In addition, the Speichersdorf spruce horn players and the Frankenberg flute group performed various folk tunes.

The "Vocal X-Tet" offered a special performance with moving arrangements from "I Wonder as I Wander" and "The First Noel". In addition, the Neustädter men's three-way singing, the Viraz ProDo-Choir and the men's choir singing community Neustadt (Kulmianer)/Trabitz with A-cappella singing performed. The re -founded children's choir gave his concert debut with the songs "every year" and "Stern over Bethlehem".

Pastor Klausfelder played on the piano during the concert and spoke about the biblical Simeon. German Herath also read extracts from Erich Arneth's "Franconian Christmas Gate". In a relaxed discussion, Elfriede Dollhopf and German HERATH dealt with aspects of noise and silence. The end of the concert was the joint performance of the Christmas Dayshymnus "O du Fröhliche", followed by traditional Christmas tunes A cappella, which were presented by the Neustadt am Kulm/Trabitz choir community. The trombone choirs from Neustadt am Kulm and Frankenberg/Wirbenz also listed Handel's “Rejoice, Welt”.
