Neustadt celebrates 750 years of city rights: a year full of highlights!

Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is celebrating an important anniversary this year: 750 years since the city rights were awarded. The city rights were awarded on April 6, 1275 by King Rudolf von Habsburg. On this occasion, an extensive program was initiated that is intended to reflect the versatility of the city and its wine villages. All citizens, clubs as well as initiatives and organizations are invited to participate in the celebrations.

Interested parties can submit their posts by email to 750 years@neustadt.eu or via a registration form. The annual program will be presented at the New Year's reception on January 10, 2025.

in an interview with Gerhard Hofmann and Frank Sobirey, two committed newcomers, the advantages of the city were emphasized. Hofmann describes Neustadt as a living environment shaped by the beautiful landscape, the Haardtrand and the Palatinate Forest. Sobirey describes the city as a "favored piece of earth" and praises the good social situation and the commitment of the citizens, especially as part of the "Water in the city" project. Despite the past criticism of local politics and the infrastructure, there is a strong sense of weighing among the Neustadtern, which has also been made noticeable at the State Garden Show.
