Neustadt invests 910,000 euros in the modernization of the kindergarten!

The municipality of Neustadt has ambitious plans for modernizing its infrastructure in 2025. In the current project, the extension and renovation of the kindergarten will be tackled. With a budget of 910,000 euros, of which 318,000 euros are funded by the Free State, the construction work started in January. The nativity group has moved into a temporary location at the gym since January 7. The completion of the project is planned by the end of 2025.

In addition, the municipality is investing in various infrastructural measures. These include, among other things, the final accounts of the civil engineering work in the “Mühlwiesen” construction area with 495,000 euros and the conversion of street lighting to modern LED technology for 200,000 euros. This change not only harbors financial advantages, but also supports the efforts to reduce energy consumption. LED technology can enable an energy saving of 70 to 80 percent, which not only represents a relief in the budget for the municipality, but also contributes to reducing light pollution, as lea-hessen.de

planned investments and financial framework conditions

Another component of the investments includes the redesign of the playground at Michelsberg for 35,000 euros and the planning of the renovation of the sewage treatment plant with 70,000 euros. A sustainable goal in the municipality is the expansion of the cemeteries in Erlach and Neustadt, which will include new urn burial offers.

The financial situation of the municipality can be described as stable. The addition from the administrative to the asset budget should be 346,700 euros, supplemented by high key assignments of the Free State in the amount of 614,568 euros for 2025. One of the most important sources of income remains income tax with 888,000 euros. However, in view of the planned increase in the circular levy from 603,000 to 709,000 euros and increasing personnel costs through collective bargaining, caution is required.

debt and reserves

The planned debt is aimed for around 2.7 million euros on December 31, 2025. At the same time, savings of building society contracts should be around 1,026,800 euros by the end of 2025. The planned total debt by 2028 is 1.1 million euros, while the average interest for loans is only 0.36 percent. This offers the municipality of financial scope. In addition to the general reserves, a sum of around 3.32 million euros is expected, of which 2.37 million euros are available as free reserves. A planned resolution of 1.275 million euros could enable important investments.

Together with the financial content, the district council of Neustadt is also discussed on the change in fire department management. Martin Bils was elected as the new commander of the Neustadt fire brigade, while the Erlach fire brigade remains under the direction of Sebastian Roth and Georg Grübel. The municipal funding for local clubs currently comprises a grant of 850 euros for FSV Neustadt/Erlach and a monthly 400 euros for the gym. In addition, the planned fiber optic expansion is delayed by one year in terms of numerous citizens and entrepreneurs in the region. A feedback from the district office for the introduction of a Tempo 30 zone is still pending.

The decision to renovate the kindergarten has already been implemented after orders to the companies WEKU for windows, terrace doors and venetian blinds as well as to the FRITZ Schwab GmbH carpentry for interior doors.

The changeover of street lighting to LED results not only from a financial need, but also from a sharpened awareness of environmental protection. In Germany, over a third of municipal energy consumption are eliminated on lighting, and the conversion to LED technology can save up to 400 million euros annually. This prudent planning is already implemented by many municipalities, such as in Neustadt, and includes both technical and legal framework conditions, which are presented in the documentation "municipal lighting", to which dStgb.de refers.
