Opening of the GO.Center: Modern ticketing for Cologne and Troisdorf!

On March 24, 2025, GO.Rheinland took an important step with the opening of its first two GO.Centers in Cologne-Mülheim and Troisdorf to increase the visibility and accessibility of their offers. By autumn 2024, a total of 18 customer centers are planned, which will include large locations in central transport nodes and smaller centers. The larger facilities include, for example, the GO.Center in Cologne Hbf, Cologne Messe/Deutz, Bonn Hbf and Aachen Hbf.

The new GO.Centers present themselves in a modern design that embodies the brand identity of Go.rheinland. These facilities are not only sales outlets for local and long-distance tickets, but also offer extensive support for questions about subscriptions and mobility offers. Employees also provide information about mobile stations, park & ride offers and reserve bicycle parking spaces.

extension of the service offer

An essential aspect of the new GO.Center is to advise passengers. The centers are operated by Transdev Vertrieb GmbH, which has received the order for sales services in the course of a Europe -wide tender. According to GO.Rheinland, everything is done to inform passengers not only about tariffs and subscriptions, but also about the use of the planned GO.Rheinland app, which is supposed to offer a digital alternative to buying a ticket.

The service switches in Cologne-Mülheim and Troisdorf are occupied by Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and offer communication in German and English. A new service hotline can also be reached Monday to Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at 0800/1800647.

With these initiatives, Go.Rheinland also reacts to the changed framework conditions in sales after the contract has expired with the previous provider DB Vertrieb GmbH. The new partner, Transdev, aims to cope with the challenge that the expenses in local transport exceed the income from ticket sales and regionalization funds.

investments in the future

Another aspect of the strategy includes the renewal and conversion of the ticket machines in the entire association area. In view of the increase in machine blasting and broken ways in recent years, a larger part of the machines in cashess versions are set up without cash. A total of 320 machines are provided that offer ticket offers for local and long-distance transport as well as online timetable information.

The introduction of WiFi offers at the stations should also increase the comfort for passengers. Go.rheinland is also increasingly planning to move the passengers for buying a ticket from their new GO.Center and invests in marketing and service offers to increase their fame.

The umbrella brand Go.Rheinland was launched by the transport companies AVV and VRS in early 2023 and is now increasingly taking responsibility for revenue responsibility for traffic services. This comprehensive strategy shows the endeavor of GO.Rheinland to make the mobility of passengers in Cologne future -proof and user -friendly.
