International dance students enchant Aachen: Exchange with Liège!
As part of an exciting exchange between the Maria Montessori Comprehensive School Aachen and the Mosa Ballet School in Liège, talented young dancers met this year to expand their skills and get new impulses in the field of dance. This event took place in March 2025 and was organized by the NRW Junorballet Dortmund. In addition to Ayende Osilo and Stephan Pokua, a total of 13 other students from the Maria Montessori comprehensive school took part in the exchange. The school has specialized as a "profile school Tanz NRW" since 2017 and intensively promotes enthusiasm for dance.
The activities in Liège included training units as well as insights into the classic ballet, which offered the students a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas from the Euregion. The event is considered part of a comprehensive school development process, which is funded by the support of the education office of the Aachen city region and the Euregio Maas-Rhein. The Maria Montessori comprehensive school has set itself the task of making dancing for all students in grades 5 to 13 an integral part of the timetable. The school received the award as a EuregiOProFil school in 2023 as part of the Interreg project "EMRlingua", which underlines the importance of cultural exchange in the Euregion. The meeting trip to Liège was financially supported by the Euregio Maas-Rhein, which illustrates the commitment of the region for cross-border education projects. Such events are essential for the development of a cultural identity and the establishment of networks between young people in the border region.

In addition to the regular dance offers, many students have the opportunity to take part in the ballet tests of the Royal Academy of Dance (Rad). Every year, almost a quarter of a million candidate choose: inside in over 80 countries for these recognized exams. These exams are focused on creativity and musicality.
