Ski friends Hüttental support children in the Josefshaus with 1,000 euros!

On March 9, 2025, the Ski friends Hüttental handed over a generous donation of 1,000 euros to the association of the Josefshaus in Olpe. This gratifying message was made public with a personal handover. The funds come from the successful fundraising campaign, which was organized as part of the SkiBasar in 2024. Friedrich Müller, the 1st chairman of the ski friends, emphasized the importance of this support for the facility.

The Josefshaus, an establishment of the GFO, is dedicated to the care and promotion of young people and offers you a safe home and pedagogical accompaniment. The deputy facility manager, Thomas Feldmann, explained that the donation is used to implement targeted projects for children and adolescents. The aim is to enable additional leisure activities, educational offers and individual help.

In addition to financial support, the Josefshaus is also involved in sporting activities. On March 28, 2024, the 7th Tour de Jugendhilfe took place in Olpe, in which around 120 cyclists from various youth welfare institutions took part. The tour started in Aachen and led the participants through a demanding route to Olpe, with the teams lying between 85 and 100 kilometers a day. The youngsters used the stages not only for a sporting challenge, but also for social networking.

A team from the Josefshaus actively took part and was supported by the St. Franziskus School, which provided their premises as accommodation. The daily stages ended at various youth welfare facilities that acted as hosts. Among other things, there were bergsprints, stage wins and team time trials, which enabled the participants both sporting successes and community experiences.
