Theater Aachen: Big anniversary with a spectacular program 2025/26!

Today, on May 8, 2025, the Aachen announced its plans for the coming season 2025/26. Under the motto "Surprise", director Elena Tzavara wants to pick up the audience with a variety of productions and premieres. The staging of "Romeo & Julia" is particularly emphasized, which will present stories of lovers in love from Aachen in an innovative way.

Aachen Mayor Sibylle Keupen is enthusiastic about the upcoming season and their creative approaches. A total of five premieres are provided in both drama and music theater that reflect the diversity of the theater.

a farewell and new perspectives

The last season also marked the farewell to General Music Director Christopher Ward, who, with his eight concerts of his personal “Bucket List”, entered the musical historiography of the theater. These events offer the audience the opportunity to prepare a due goodbye.

anniversary season 2024/25

In addition to the plans for 2025/26, the Theater Aachen next year. The anniversary season 2024/25 is converted into a festival that illuminates the history and meaning of the theater for the city of Aachen. The highlights include an open day with a game plan presentation, a birthday gala on May 15, 2025 and a street oratorium with a citizen: Interior choir, which is led by Schorsch Cameroon.

In addition, there will be a documentary series entitled "200 Minuten Theater Aachen", which also focuses on the history of the theater. Two exhibitions in Aachen museums are planned for autumn 2025, which visually support the anniversary.

The anniversary program includes ambitious 15 premieres and 6 re -recordings in music theater and acting. General Music Director Christopher Ward also planned the “Aachen and the World” project. Long -term projects and new cooperation, such as "Mörgenslab" and "Aachen’s Got Talent", should address all generations, especially children and adolescents. Staging of popular pieces such as "The Magic Flute" and "The Cutting Cat" will be a fundamental part of this offer.

There are numerous special concerts for the youngest visitors, including crawling concerts and seat cushion concerts, as well as an attractive price model: children under the age of 18 only pay € 10 at family concerts. An anniversary offer enables four theater visits for two people at a price of € 200.
