Aid campaign in Bielefeld: Collect stamps for a good cause!
On Monday, January 20, 2025, the 19th stamp palette, consisting of ten large stamp packages, was sent to Bethel in Bielefeld. This campaign is organized under the motto "www.briefmarken-ohne-brenzen.de", a project that was launched in collaboration with www.gudd-zweck-ideen.de and the volunteer café gemstone in Freisen-Oberkirchen. The aim of this collection campaign is to support the diaconal work in Bethel through the collected stamps and collections and to secure jobs for people with disabilities.
Both German and foreign stamps, whether stamped or unampisted, can be handed over. This also includes stamp albums and collections. Tax offices include the café gemstone, four recycling centers in the St. Wendel district as well as the city fresh shop of Ali Skaine and Edeka Decker in Birkenfeld and Hoppstädten-Weiersbach. The collected stamps then reach the Bethel Foundation Bethel in Bielefeld, where it is sorted and prepared for resale.
sustainability and voluntary commitment
The transport of the packages is taken over by the Spedition Peiffer from Freisen, which for reasons of sustainability is carried out free of charge to Bielefeld once or twice a year. Among the approximately 120 employees who work in the "Stamp Stamps" in Bethel, there are many people with disabilities who receive meaningful employment through this work.
The stamp position, which was founded by Friedrich von Bodelschwingh over 130 years ago, plays an important role in diaconal work. Around 130 million stamps are processed there every year - a route that measures over 4,000 kilometers when it is strung together. The employees are responsible for sorting and preparing the incoming programs in order to sell them to collectors worldwide.
call for the collection of stamps
Due to the high number of letters and parcels arriving daily, which often get into waste paper unused, is urgently called for collecting stamps and making a contribution. It is very simple: stamps can be cut out and kept with a edge of at least one centimeter. The finished envelopes must be sent to the Bethel stamp position, Quellenhofweg 25, 33617 Bielefeld.
The stamp position processes around 400 new programs every day and thus secures jobs for people who are sick, disabled or socially disadvantaged. Further information on the collection campaign and the services offered are available on the website www.briefmarken-bethel.de
The initiative shows how the simple gesture of the stamp collecting not only gives joy, but also real help can be provided. People are invited to become part of this sensible project and thus make a valuable contribution.
