Eintracht Frankfurt will meet FSV Mainz 05 for a friendly on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the Bruchwegstadion. This duel follows the previous Bundesliga game, in which Mainz 05 won 3-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The upcoming test game is not offered live on free TV or in live stream. Information about the game, however, is available on eintracht.de as well as on the association's social media channels. To ensure undisturbed preparation, the game takes place without spectators. Interestingly, the test game will be held in two extended halves of 60 minutes each and represents the first and last friendly for both teams in 2025 before the Bundesliga continues.

outlook on the Bundesliga

The next Bundesliga game for Mainz 05 will be against Bochum on January 11th, while Eintracht Frankfurt will play against St. Pauli on the same day. Both teams started their training sessions on January 2, 2025 to optimally prepare for the coming season.

coach Dino Toppmöller is confident and sees the Eintracht "on the right track". Even if the team has not changed fundamentally compared to the previous season, the team aims to play forward faster and bring greater verticality into play. Toppmöller and sports director Markus Krösche worked up the past season in summer and had various open and honest conversations. The constructive feedback from Krösche is considered the central quality of the team, as hessenschau.de reports.
