Fire brigade event in Hemer: Competition of the best on May 10th!

On Saturday, May 10th, the city center of Hemeran becomes the scene of an important event for the fire brigades in the Märkisches Kreis. Over 60 fire brigade units will take part in this day to demonstrate their skills. The Fire Brigade Association Märkischer Kreis e.V. organizes this competition and invites groups or seasons with nine or six firefighters and men each compete. Particularly noteworthy is the first participation of a group of the Iserlohn professional fire brigade and the presence of two seasons from Bochum.

Preparations for the event have been running for several weeks. The aim is not only to acquire a badge for the uniform, but also to enable a comparison with other units. During the competition, there are various disciplines on the test bench, including the establishment of a fire -fighting attack, the procedure through a special door as well as the time measurement and error assessment by referees.

Start of the event is at 7 a.m., while the end is planned around 4 p.m. In the course of the event, however, traffic restrictions in the city center will also occur. From 5 a.m., the main street between the Fleischerei Weber and the Tower Villa as well as the street on the Steinert to the corner of Mühlackerweg will be closed. In addition, the weekly market is laid between the town hall and the Hademarebad, and Seuthestrasse is blocked for waiting units.
