On January 4, 2025, the annual service discussion of the operating area 2 of the fire brigade Lennestadt took place in the fire service equipment house Grevenbrück. Over 10 new members were included in the youth fire brigade, while two new firefighters were taken over to the operations department. The promotions included a firefighter, four fire brigade men, one main firefighter, two outdoor chief, two fire champions and two chief fire chief. There was also a takeover of the Finnentrop fire brigade and several anniversaries, including 10, 35, 50 and 60 years.

The deputy mayor Karsten Schürheck praised the commitment of the firefighters and announced investments, including the almost completed planning for a new fire station in Meggen and the procurement of two new extinguishing group vehicles for Meggen and Altenhundem.
Wehrleiter Markus Hamers looked back on the year and reported on the commissioning of a new tank fire engine for Meggen and the ceremonial opening of the fire station in Oedingen, which was destroyed after flood in 2021.
