Frankfurt success message: Bibi from Dortmund gives birth to three sweet babies!

In spring 2025 there are exciting news from the zoos in North Rhine-Westphalia. The Dortmund zoo in particular is enjoying the latest developments. There the Capybara lady Bibi, which was born on March 1, 2022, was previously celebrated as a visitor hit. Due to a family circumstances, Bibi had to move to the Krefeld Zoo in April 2022 because her father, "Lord of Bödefeld", lived in the Dortmund zoo and was impossible. In Krefeld she found a new partner in the seven-year-old Capybara man Enzo.

On April 1, 2025, Bibi gave birth to three healthy young animals in her new home, the Krefeld Zoo. The joy of birth is not only great in Krefeld, but also the Dortmund zoo and its visitors are enthusiastic about these news. While the gender of the young animals is still unknown, the names for the little Capybaras must now be chosen.

Happy circumstances in the Krefeld Zoo

The decision to bring Bibi to Krefeld has paid off. There she can now live with Enzo and has found a new home in the past two years in which she was able to start a family. Both zoos look forward to the good news and hope that many visitors will soon have the opportunity to discover the young animals in the outer enclosure.

The general mood in the Zoos of North Rhine-Westphalia is positive. Other facilities such as the Cologne Zoo and the Bochum zoo are also taking a gratifying balance for the past year. In the Cologne Zoo, for example, around 10,000 animals live from over 850 species, and the high number of visitors indicate a lively interest in the animals and their preservation. The Bochum zoo even expects more than 350,000 visitors and could reach an all -time high.

While the zoos in North Rhine -Westphalia are usually optimistic, it can be seen that the prudent breeding and maintenance of animals such as Bibi and their young animals play an important role for future generations.
