Kramer before comeback: Return to VfL Bochum is approaching!

Christoph Kramer, former player of Borussia Mönchengladbach, is considering a return to VfL Bochum. The talks between Kramer and VfL Bochum intensify, while the 33-year-old footballer in the Podcast Copa TS stated that the market for players over 30 years was not as expected. Kramer himself contacted clubs and emphasizes that he no longer needed money, but simply wants football. His career at VfL Bochum began when he was loaned to the club from Bayer Leverkusen from 2011 to 2013.

ilja Kaenzig, managing director of VfL Bochum, said in an interview that Kramer's return would fit well, since there was a good relationship between him and trainer Dieter Hecking. According to Sport Bild , Kramer has a strong emotional binding to VfL Bochum and wanted in the last summer return. However, an immediate transfer seems unlikely, since Bochum first has to make space in the squad. Players like Dani de Wit and Moritz-Broni Kwarteng are potential change candidates to create this place.

possibilities of a return

Kramer, who has been in Gladbach without a club since his contract was terminated in August 2023, could return to the Bundesliga in January 2024. Club boss Ilja Kaenzig confirmed the interest in Kramer in mid -December 2023. VfL Bochum is looking for players who can bring immediate improvements, and Kramer's return would meet this need. Despite his fitness, Kramer will not be at the start of training on January 2, 2024 in Bochum. A departure of players like de Wit or Kwarteng could increase the chances of Kramer's return, while coach Hecking prioritizes a striker who guarantees goals.

Especially Kramer's earlier successes in Bochum and his close bond with the club and fans make him a promising candidate for a return. From 2016 to 2019 he played under coach Dieter Hecking in Gladbach and received his basic fitness, which could benefit him for a comeback. However, the situation remains tense because Bochum has to wait for the transfer of the transfer market before further decisions can be made.
