U35 route: Buses instead of lanes due to tunnel work from today!
From January 22, 2025, commuters and passengers on the U35 route in Bochum and Herne have to expect significant restrictions. The reason is extensive tunnel work that starts this evening at 9 p.m. and are carried out until the end of the company at night. Instead of the train, passengers have to fall back on buses until the work is completed. This measure affects the section between Riemke Markt and Strünkede Castle.
The construction work is scheduled until February 2, 2025 and take place every evening from 9 p.m. to the end of the company. In the first section, which runs from 22nd to 26th January 2025, buses will replace the train. The stops during this period are diverse to give passengers a seamless onward journey.

The replacement stops are arranged differently. A connection to the stops of the line 354 is provided for the Riemke Markt and Rensingstrasse stations. An additional stop is set up on Herner Strasse (house number 407) on Rensingstrasse.
A replacement stop on Bochumer Straße, opposite house number 188, is planned for the Berninghausstraße and Hölkeskampring stop. Here, too, stops of line 303 are controlled. future planning and feedback
The final section of the work takes place from February 1 to 2, 2025. An alternative bus call between Hustadt, Rensingstraße and Strünkede Castle is set up here. This section also enables night express trips by bus along the entire line.
The numerous changes are part of an already increasing trend in the traffic sector, where trains have to be replaced more often due to construction work by bus services.
