prerequisites and procedures for naturalization

For naturalization in Germany, there are clear requirements that applicants have to meet. This includes a lawful and uninterrupted stay in Germany of at least five years or three years with special integration services. Furthermore, sufficient knowledge of German (at least B1 level) and proof of knowledge of the German legal and social order are necessary. This knowledge can be proven by the naturalization test, which includes 33 questions, whereby at least 17 must be answered correctly.

The application procedure requires a personal application to the citizen service or registry office, followed by a comprehensive examination by the responsible naturalization authority. The cost of naturalization is 255 euros per person; A reduced fee is planned for minor children. Ludwig Neuber, as a personal contact for immigrants, offers support and can be reached on telephone numbers 02295 902318 and 0160 8230810 as well as by email at ludwig@neuber.de.

Additional information and support will also receive interested parties via the municipal integration center of the Rhein-Sieg district, which can be contacted on 02241 13-3066 and via email at integration@rhein-sieg-kreis.de. The process of naturalization concludes with the solemn commitment to the free democratic basic order, which is confirmed by the singing of the German national anthem.

Naturalization is not only a legal act, but also an important step towards integration for new citizens, which take comprehensive rights and obligations in German society. For many, this also means the beginning of a new chapter in their life.
