Directed by Kostas Papakostopoulos and based on the work of Finkheu, the performance will take place on January 17th and 18th. The main actress, Lisa Sophie Kusz, embodies the role of Pythia, the most famous forcess. With a playing time of about 75 minutes, the piece will take up important questions such as environmental degrees, climate change and patriarchal structures.

environmental issues on stage
parallel to this performance, the play "Anthropos, Tyrann (Oedipus)", realized by Alexander Eisenach and the "Theater des Anthropozene", the ear heating in the context of ancient tragedy. Inspired by Sophocles, the piece treats human interventions in nature, such as air pollution, deforestation and dying out animal species. The founders of the theater, marine biologist Antje Boetius and director Frank Raddatz, pursue the goal of creating an awareness of environmental protection through emotional and playful mediation, such as emphasized.
In a current state report by the federal government, it was found that only 18% of the German forests are healthy. Alarming is also the fact that around 180,000 hectares of forest have died since 1984. This dramatic situation is reinforced by the current forest fires in Siberia, California and Australia and illustrates the need to use art as a source of inspiration in order to promote curiosity and lust for experimentation in dealing with environmental issues.
