The former head of the district of Borken, Raimund Pingel, died on December 23, 2024 at the age of 89. District Administrator Dr. Kai Zwicker commented on Pingels' death and described him as a role model and an estimated guide. Pingel was born in Hagen in 1935 and came to Westmünsterland in the early 1970s. After graduating from high school in 1955, he studied law in Freiburg and Münster and completed an apprenticeship at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer.

In 1967 he entered the service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as a government assessor and worked in the Münster regional council. A year later, Pingel was seconded to the Lüdinghausen district administration. From January 1969 to March 1970 he took part in a further training course for administrative management. He then worked as a scientific advisor to the CDU parliamentary group for local politics and state planning, before he was elected senior district director of the Borken district in 1972, where he started his office on August 1, 1972

In a further message, it was announced that Dr. Ansgar Hörster, district director of the Borken district, adopted three long -time employees of the district administration on November 28, 2024. Ruth Hackel from Bocholt has worked at the Borken district since 1976 and had worked in the anteroom of the head of the district health office and in the administrative management. Elisabeth Möllenbeck, also from Bocholt, had been in the Borken district since 1986. She worked as a social worker and was largely responsible for youth welfare planning in the district youth welfare office. Irmgard Paßerschroer from Rhede has worked in the district administration since 1986, where she acted as an equal opportunities officer.
