Velen: Full closure of the K 11 from April 14th - construction measures provide detours!
On Monday, April 14, 2025, extensive renovation work on Kreisstraße K 11 in Velen begins. This work is necessary to renew the lane ceiling between the new roundabout on K 11N and L 829 Heidener Straße. The measure, which is expected to continue until Thursday, April 17, 2025, requires a full closure of K 11 Rekener Straße.
The reason for this blocking lies in the insufficient road width for safe traffic with construction equipment. The detour takes place via the L 829 to Heiden and then via the K 11 after large Reken. The total costs of this renovation amount to around 60,000 euros, and B+G company from Bocholt will carry out the work. It should be mentioned that the cycle path extension in the same section has already been largely completed. Remaining work on the side rooms of the bike path are also underway and are to be released by the end of April 2025. Press contact for further information is Leonie Dreier at 02861 / 681-2427.

These measures began on October 28, 2024 and will continue until around November 20, 2024. This work could also cause restrictions in the affected areas, whereby the residents are informed separately. The construction work on the new construction of the relief road K 11N east of Velen, which result in a half -sided blocking of the Hochmoorstraße L 581, start on June 12, 2024. During this period, access to the Klyer Damm from Landstrasse L 581 will be completely closed. The road users are asked for understanding for the expected impairments, since the impairments are to be kept as low as possible.
