Heinrich Wesseling-Effing is a central figure in the instrumental group of the KLJB Borkenwirthe. On the occasion of his 50th anniversary as an active member, a big celebration was initiated, which recognizes the tireless efforts and dedication of the musician for the community. Wesseling-Effing, who has been playing the tenor horn for five decades, places special emphasis on the cohesion between young and old, which is an essential part of the music tradition for him. During his time at the instrumental group, he experienced many memorable appearances, including trips to New York and Moscow, who have shaped his musical career.

"The golden anniversary was celebrated at the KLJB Borkenwirthe. I hope to be able to make music for many more years," said Wesseling-Effing, also mentioned as a model for Franz Kemper, who is 90 years old this year and continues to be active. This connection to music runs through the entire community and combines generations through common passion and commitment.

On Saturday evening, the annual concert in 2023 of the instrumental group took place in the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche, a venue that differs greatly from the previously used gym at the Engeland Esch. The church was occupied to the last place, which provides the population's great interest in the music. The event began at 7 p.m. with a performance by the youth orchestra under the direction of Hans Roerdinkholder, which played the title "The Polar Express" and received a lot of applause.

After a short break, the main orchestra appeared. Moderator and conductor Sebastian Sürgers spoke of the special challenges of the indoor sound in the church, but was able to convince with the musical performance. The combination of changing stage lighting and the excellent performance of the orchestra made the evening unforgettable. A special highlight was the guest appearance of Christin Vornholt, singer of the party band Blind-Date, who appeared during the title "The Story" and contributed to the great applause of the audience.

In parallel to this local music scene, the Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI), which is recognized as the largest youth culture organization in the world. Founded in Brussels in 1945, JMI pursues the goal of enabling young people to develop a development across national borders through music. With the support of over 36,000 events annually, this organization is proof of the universal language of music and its ability to combine people.
