Heimat Prize 2025: Dedicated clubs in the Borken district wanted!

On May 12, 2025, the Borken district awards the "Heimat Prize" for the seventh time, under the motto "We are home". This initiative aims to honor the voluntary commitment of clubs and initiatives in Westmünsterland. Applications are possible until June 30, 2025, and all groups or initiatives based in the district are invited that work on a voluntary basis. The prerequisite is that the projects must be carried out or already implemented, such as press-service.de communicated.

The Heimat Prize pursues the goal of not only promoting the home idea, but also strengthening social cohesion and regional identity. The submitted projects are assessed according to various criteria. This includes the future orientation, the extraction of new or re -committed people as well as the modern implementation of the home idea. The transferability of the projects also plays an important role. In total, prize money of 10,000 euros is awarded, which are provided by the Ministry for Home, Locales, Construction and Equality of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

experiences of the past few years

The city of Borken has carried out similar initiatives to promote exemplary projects in the past six years. These have the goal of making the city more life and lovable. In the 2024 award ceremony, the "Barefoot Path Marbeck", initiated by the Heimatverein Marbeck, prevailed. The project, which trains the senses in a playful manner, was awarded a prize money of 3,000 euros. The second place went to the event "Borken pulsed", organized by "Just Borken", which enabled a musical distraction in the city center in the summer of 2024. A total of six projects were submitted, including interesting initiatives such as the Westmünsterland community foundation and the Autonomous Women's Group Borken, such as borken.de reported.

These awards illustrate how important the commitment of the citizens is for the design of their homeland and what variety of projects in Westmünsterland exists. The Heimat Prize helps to highlight these services and encourage imitation. The coming months until the submission period in June offer an important time for all committed people and groups who work for their region.
