Revolution in waste management: Cooperation between Borken and Recklinghausen!
On December 30, 2024, the district councils Bodo Klimpel (Recklinghausen district) and Dr. Kai Zwicker (Borken district) signed an important new agreement on inter -municipal cooperation in waste management. This cooperation is scheduled to come into force on January 1, 2025 and was decided last autumn in the district days and approved by the Münster district government in mid -December
The agreement extends over a period of 2039 and includes both the disposal of organic waste and the treatment of hospital waste. The district of Borken will take over the recycling of the bio -waste from the Recklinghausen district, while conversely, the Recklinghausen district will be responsible for the thermal treatment of hospital waste from the district of Borken. Since 2014, the two circles have been working together in the recovery of bio -waste, whereby the waste disposal company Westmünsterland mbH puts this process into reality by processing the organic waste into high -quality compost.
long -term disposal security and environmental friendliness
A central goal of the new cooperation is the creation of long -term disposal security for hospital waste from the district of Borken, which is thermally treated in the facilities of the Ekocity waste management association in Herten. The agreement also promotes proper and environmentally friendly waste management, whereby special attention is paid to waste avoidance and recycling.
As part of this cooperation, the transport logistics are also gradually converted between the circles to emission -free technologies. From the spring of 2024, a battery -electric tractor -trailer will be used for transport between the locations in order to further optimize environmentally friendly waste disposal.
Inter -municipal cooperation enables efficient bundling of waste quantities and the distribution of fixed costs, which ultimately aims to keep the waste fees stable in both circles. These efforts are part of a comprehensive strategy for creating a cost -efficient waste disposal that corresponds to high ecological standards.
In addition to this special agreement, it can be seen that inter -municipal cooperation in various areas, including waste management, can create significant advantages. For example, Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Affairs Bavaria emphasizes that many years of cooperation between municipalities leads to the formation of economic company sizes and improves efficiency in various service areas, such as sewage and water supply.Details | |
