On March 20, 2025, a free online seminar entitled "Sonnenstrom from the roof" will take place at 6 p.m. It is organized by the NRW consumer center in cooperation with the Borken climate rice. Energy consultant Dirk Mobers leads the seminar, in which central topics are dealt with for the use of solar energy.

The seminar offers valuable insights to reducing energy costs through the implementation of solar power. Another focus is on the storage of solar power using batteries, which play an important role in the independence of fossil fuels and for climate protection. The seminar "Sonnenstrom from the roof" is carried out regularly every third Thursday of the month. This concept is part of the extensive online offers in 2025, which focus on energy savings, funding and climate change. The Borken climate rice is a member of the "Altbauneu" network, which is campaigning for energetic building renovations.

Sustainable handling of old PV modules is promoted by the municipal recycling centers, where a recycling rate of 92.4 percent is achieved.
