Summer toboggan run Bottrop: opening now only in 2026 - that is behind it!
The summer toboggan run in the Bottrop Alpincenter remains closed for a long time. According to information from Wa.de has been ongoing since 2021. At first a reopening for 2025 was planned, but Tobias Krauel, the deputy managing director of the alpine center, said that the opening date will be postponed by at least one year. A reopening before mid -2026 is therefore not to be expected.
The summer toboggan run is said to return to the heap, which is closely linked to the location. A new route is planned with an extension of around 100 meters and an additional roundabout. The dismantling of the railway is required due to ongoing work on the Haldenbelle to ensure its stability in the long term.
conversion and planned innovations
The changes to slopes and areas must be completed before the toboggan run can be reopened. In addition to the reopening of the summer toboggan run, there are also other attractive innovations in the Bottrop alpincenter, which are intended to create more space for leisure activities and the construction of a hotel.
like gutschein-zeitung.de reports, the summer toboggan run, which is around 1,000 meters long and dates from the manufacturer Wiegand, will remain closed until 2023. As part of the renovation, the route is completely renewed and expanded by about 100 meters of additional departure length. In addition, the upgrading of the existing roundabout with a second helix element is planned in the departure. The renovation takes place in connection with the expansion of the heap on which the alpine center is located. The new version of the railway should be put into operation in mid -2023.
