At the beginning of 2025, there are some significant changes in the field of further training and social security. On January 1, 2025, the procedure for promoting vocational training for SGB II customers will be shifted by the job centers to the agencies of work. This decision was announced on October 24, 2024 by the Gelsenkirchen Employment Agency and the Job Centers Bottrop and Gelsenkirchen.
From this point on, the approval and financing of vocational training for the customers concerned is responsible for the employment agencies. Nevertheless, the job centers remain involved in the processes; They continue to advise on the targeted allocation of the educational vouchers that are issued on the job centers. The number of available educational vouchers is expected to remain unchanged in 2025. In Gelsenkirchen, 700 vouchers are provided by the job center, in Bottrop there are 200 vouchers, while the Gelsenkirchen Employment Agency provides 850 vouchers. This continues to emphasize the important role of further training and qualification by the employment agency and the job centers. In the future, educational institutions will have a permanent contact with the employment agency to ensure better communication and cooperation.
