On February 6, 2025, District Administrator Dr. Christian Schulze Pellengahr launched the European Quiz for primary schools in the Coesfeld district. The quiz serves the goal of bringing the diversity and values closer to the students in a playful way. The teachers support curiosity and thirst for knowledge of the children.

The quiz includes child -friendly questions about different countries, their traditions and symbols. The schools can make the quiz format flexible, be it as a class project, school competition or in a learning lesson. Each class is called to fill a quiz arch together. An attractive way to promote school competition offers the chance of prize money of a total of 1,000 euros for the class fund.

Information on the quiz and participation options

The questionnaire has already been sent to the primary schools in the district by email. The closing date for the complete quiz arches is May 31, 2025. This info-adaptive format ensures that pupils are actively involved in the content, which increases the effectiveness of learning.

In addition to this local format, the interactive learning tool "Europa Quest", which specifically wants to address students between the ages of 9 and 15, and older. The aim of this tool is to promote teamwork, communication and joint learning. "Europa Quest" also supports teachers at schools and universities in conveying knowledge of the EU in an entertaining way.

The quiz contains a variety of questions and answers to topics such as EU institutions, history, decision-making and culture that are available in all EU languages. A helpful PDF handout with step-by-step instructions complements the offer, while an accompanying PowerPoint presentation provides questions during the exercise.
