Culture in Havixbeck: Exciting events 2025 start soon!
On January 6, 2025, the Havixbeck Heimatverein presented its annual program, which includes a variety of events. The start will take place on January 8 with a bread baking campaign and an open regulars' table at 7.30 p.m. in the Sudhues house. These offers should not only keep the tradition of bread baking alive, but also promote exchange within the community.
Another highlight of the program is the lecture by Ulla Wolanewitz with the title "True Vötellsels from Dorf", which will take place on January 15 at 7 p.m. in the Baumberger-Sandstein Museum. This lecture was prepared in cooperation with the museum team and promises exciting insights into local stories and traditions.
Special events in the Baumberger Sandstein Museum
In addition to the events already mentioned, an event will take place on April 1, 2025 under the title "Mapping Stories" in the Baumberger Sandstein Museum. The event includes an open air screening and a talk that is planned from 8:00 p.m. to around 10:30 p.m. Trick films are shown in mixed media technology based on discussions with contemporary witnesses. These films are produced by the light artist Nikola Dicke and combine hand -drawn circular cards of her father, a former surveying engineer.
A central theme of the "Mapping Stories" event is the area reform in the Coesfeld district. The collected stories from the people surveyed flow into the productions and will be presented at the Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen from May 3 to 8. This event is part of the Initiative "Show change - 50 years of regional reform in the Münsterland", which aims to raise awareness of the historical development of the region.
