On January 1, 1975, a significant area reform came into force in the Coesfeld district, which resulted in far -reaching changes in administrative structure. Coesfeld district was combined that numerous municipalities were merged. In this context, many local signs were also exchanged.

In order to capture the memories and experiences of this time, the artist Nikola Dicke Widewitnesses interviewed in five locations of the Coesfeld district. These conversations are implemented in the form of cartoons that are combined with hand -drawn circular cards, which come from Dickes Father, a former surveying engineer.

The results of this creative work are presented as part of the project "Show change - 50 years of area reform in the Münsterland". The project is organized by the Münsterland cultural office and includes a number of events that take place in different cities and municipalities.

A highlight will be the screening of the films, which takes place on March 29, 2025 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kreishaus II in Coesfeld. This is accompanied by a public narrative café in the Coesfeld city museum. Münsterland.com adds that is also planned for an extensive supporting program.

The final presentation will take place in Vischering Castle from May 3 to 8, 2025, with a finissage on May 8th at 6 p.m. Münsterland.com emphasizes that the project is also supported by various sponsors, including the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW and the Volksbank Westmünsterland eg. nikola Dicke pursues the goal of preserving the personal stories of contemporary witnesses and giving them a voice. The effects of the regional reform are still noticeable and shape life in the region, so that the examination of this topic remains of great importance.
