In a significant decision for the handball department of BVB, Dana Bleckmann extended her contract until 2027. The 23-year-old, who starts her tenth season in Dortmund from summer, is a central player of the team. After a cruciate ligament tear, she has now celebrated her comeback and was recently nominated for the national team. Rupert Thiele, the Handball department head of BVB, was optimistic about her return and influence on the team. Bleckmann came to Dortmund in 2016, initially with a second game right in the second team and the A-youth. Most recently, she competed in the Final4 around the DHB Cup 2024/25 and debut in December for the German national team at the European Championship.
