New Year's Eve celebration in the U-Tower: An unforgettable view over Dortmund!

On December 28, 2024, preparations for the New Year's Eve celebrations are already in Dortmund. Numerous cultural events take place in the iconic "U" in the city center, a former fermentation and warehouse cellar of the Dortmund Union from the 1920s. The U-Tower still houses changing exhibitions as well as a night club and the "bridal tower", the highest tavern in Germany with a beer garden at a height of 64 meters. On New Year's Eve, the bridal tower not only offers a buffet and a DJ, but also the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular fireworks over the city. However, this great view has its price.

The Dortmund night representative Chris Stemann announced significant changes for the New Year's Eve on Friedensplatz at the same time. The program is made more family-friendly and receives support from local children's and youth dance groups. The planned attractions include a hands-on program, walking acts and stilt runners. In addition, changing Dortmund DJs, such as DJ IGL and Tanja Bracht from the Dortmund e.V. dance sports club, will create a good atmosphere.

admission and security measures

The peace place is fenced for the New Year's party and is subject to access control. Children up to ten years are allowed to participate free of charge accompanied by their parents, while adults pay admission in advance for five euros (plus fees). Interestingly, the entire entrance fee will be donated to the St. Elisabeth hospice and the German children's hospice services Dortmund. Fireworks are not allowed on Friedensplatz, and the celebrations last until 2 a.m. after the turn of the year.

For those who want to celebrate after the event in Dortmund, numerous clubs, including Junkyard, Light Club and Nightrooms, offer reduced entry of five euros. A trained security service as well as the Awareness Concept and the Dortmund Guides guarantee a safe environment and are available to the celebrants as contact persons, especially in moments of uncertainty.
