Travelers at Frankfurt Airport should prepare for the fact that there is a lot of operation. Fraport AG recommends that passengers with luggage are at least 2.5 hours before departure at the terminal. 2 hours are sufficient for passengers with hand luggage. It is also advisable to reserve a time window for security control to minimize waiting times.
The border controls that have been carried out since September 2024 can also lead to waiting times, while long traffic jams are unlikely. Also abroad, especially in Austria and Switzerland, traffic jams on the long -distance routes can be expected, including construction sites and downhill barriers on important holiday routes. In Austria, several border crossings are closed for mouth and claw disease.
