Murder or suicide? Two puzzling deaths under the magnifying glass!
On December 26, 2024, the new "File Grenzland" podcast started, which deals with spectacular crimes in the Aachen, Düren and Heinsberg triad. The first episode is devoted to a particularly serious incident: the attempted robbery at the Esso petrol station on Aachener Europaplatz, which occurred in summer 2008. Akmal Sekandary, who was working at the petrol station at the time, survived the attack, but was worried about it and has been paraplegic since then.
The attack occurred on June 7, 2008 shortly after 1 a.m. Sekandary remembers the 45 seconds of the robbery that changed his life forever. He was seriously injured in the attack by a shot in the cervical spine and lost a lot of blood. A random emergency doctor was able to help him in this critical Situation and save his life. Unfortunately, the surveillance camera, which could have delivered the best recordings, was out of operation at the time of the crime. However, there were several witnesses who watched the crime.
content and publication of the podcast
The podcast "File Grenzland" appears every 14 days on Thursdays and is available on aachener-zeitung.de as well as other podcast-platforms. The next episode of the podcast will be released on January 9th. In addition to Akmal Sekandary, the interlocutor in the podcast are also Michael Fritsch-Hörmann, who led the investigation.
In another podcast episode, which deals with two suspicious suicide cases as the topic, the questionable circumstances of the death of Tony Lombardi and Danny Williams were illuminated. Lombardi was found dead in Westerville, Ohio in 1990, and the police classified his death as a suicide while his family thinks of murder. The situation was similar in 1991 in Galesburg, Illinois, where the investigation also led to uncertainties. These cases were discussed in an episode of the "Unsolved Mysteries" podcast, as reported on Trailwentcold.podbean.com
