VfL Vichtal triumphs in the preliminary round final of the Sparkassen-Hallen Cup!

On January 4, 2025, the preliminary round finals of the 39th Sparkassen-Hallen Cup took place. VfL Vichtal triumphed 5: 2 over SV Eilendorf and thus secured the move into the final round tournament. Teutonia Weiden was able to qualify as the best group second of the Aachen preliminary round, which is due to a better goal difference.

The final round tournament will be held on the same day at 3 p.m. in Aachen Halle Neuköllner Straße. The groups for the tournament are divided as follows: Group A consists of sports fans Uevekoven, Teutonia Weiden and Eintracht. Germania Teveren, Sportfreunde Düren and VfL Vichtal.

Review of the preliminary round

In the preliminary round finals, Dejan Savic scored in the 5th minute, Apostolos Ioannidis in the 6th minute and Ali Alawie in the 9th minute the goals for Vichtal. Benjamin Czennia (11th) and Said Tchacoura (16th) shortened for Eilendorf, but a double strike by Savic and Beyamin Malekzadeh in the 17th minute produced the 5-2 final score. Assistant coach Marko Nikolic was pleased with participation in the final round tournament.

The tournament was not without bad luck because Sinan Ak injured himself against Breinig and Marwin Ailiei probably contracted a muscle fiber tear. The assistant coach of Eilendorf, Dirk Braunleder, praised the performance of Vichtal and spoke of injury bad luck for his team.

In the first group game of the final round tournament, VfL Vichtal was able to win 6: 3 against VfR Würselen, which continued the positive trend for the team. Alawie and Malekzadeh contributed significantly to this victory by securing a 3-0 lead in the first half.

The final round tournament promises exciting encounters, as in addition to Vichtal, Teuton's Weiden also plays in the first group and compete in both teams.
