Glamping on Lake Bostal: New project inspires holidaymakers and camper!
in the heart of the district of St. Wendel, near the popular Bostalsee, a new holiday paradise is being built to meet the demands of modern campers. The construction work for a motorhome and glamping park in Bosen is already underway. Thomas Laubenthal and his team have been working on this project for four years, which is intended to enrich the region with an important tourist attraction. The concept combines the traditional camping culture with modern glamping elements that raise the camping experience to a new level.
Current trends show that camping has developed from a spartan form of travel to a luxurious experience known as glamping. With regard to the Bostalsee, there are only a few providers for such offers, which makes the planned project even more important. Those responsible rely on a natural design of the parking spaces and have already created the floor plans for a main building with a reception and sanitary facilities. A total of 60 spacious parking spaces are to be built on three terraces, while a special glamping area with Tiny house and a wellness zone is still being planned.
project development details
Laubenthal, who comes from Priweiler and previously worked as a military leader in Nohfelden, came up with the idea of this park during a vacation on the German Alpine Road. Previous contact to the Caravan fair in Düsseldorf led to a cooperation with a planning office that enabled the feasibility of the project. A study carried out confirmed the potential of the Bostalsee region for such a project.
The strengthening of the motorhome parking space offer is of great importance in view of the increased need in recent years. The municipality already points to a limited range of parking spaces. Mayor Andreas Veit von Nohfelden and Mayor Michael Dietz support the project. Ludmilla Gutjahr, head of the district's tourism company, also emphasizes the importance of the new offer for the tourist attractiveness of the district.
Camping options at Bostalsee
The Bostalsee itself is a family -friendly holiday destination with numerous leisure opportunities, including two large sandy beaches and various playgrounds. A main attraction is Bosiland, where children from 2 to 14 years can play - ideal for romping and childbirth days. This complements the Aqua Mundo Park, which comes up with water slides and a playful "Water Playhouse". In addition, the range of football golf with an 18-hole system ensures variety and fun outdoors.
The design of the new motorhome and glamping park depends on the requirements and wishes of the current and future camping generation. Findings from the current camping trends 2025 show that sustainability and innovative technologies play a central role. Camper increasingly have the desire for environmentally friendly and flexible camping experiences, a need that is also taken into account in this new project.
With the support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the commitment of experts such as Patrick Loth, who specializes in wooden houses and sustainability, the construction is sought until the season opening 2026. The goal is to create a unique holiday experience that appeals to both young and older travelers and puts the nature of Lake Bostal.Details | |
