Innovative hearing aid supply: ISB supports ProHearing in Kaiserslautern!
The Investment and Structural Bank Rhineland-Palatinate (ISB) took part in ProHearing GmbH from Kaiserslautern in a pioneering step. This decision is made as part of the venture financing company for technology promotion in Rhineland-Palatinate mbH (WFT) and is supported by the Innovation Fund Rhineland-Palatinate III, a funding measure by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture. ProHearing is an innovative start-up that specializes in the development of solutions for people with hearing loss. The company pursues a modern, patient -oriented supply concept that takes into account both hearing health and individual customer needs. By combining various supply segments and close cooperation with leading hearing aid manufacturers, ProHearing aims to revolutionize the entire process of hearing aid supply. This is done by an individual supply model that corresponds to the latest technological standards and is intended to gradually expand access to modern hearing aid supply.
an important step for hearing health
Sebastian Lanzer, CEO von ProHearing, emphasizes that the participation of ISB is a milestone for the redefinition of hearing aid supply in Germany. Mike Walber, head of the Venture Capital area of ISB, emphasizes that the innovative omnichannel approach of prohearing makes access to hearing aids facilitating and improving their quality. These developments are particularly relevant because over six million people over 60 years in Germany are affected by hearing loss.
hearing disorders can have significant negative effects on the quality of life of those affected, including falls, depression, dementia and limited independence. In order to meet these challenges, large quantitative and qualitative supply gaps exist in the treatment of hearing loss. In this context, the project Hearforfuture is launched, the aim of which is to identify structural and procedural weaknesses in the care of hearing impaired people.
research to improve care
The project aims to record the current supply situation using health insurance data and information from the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. Individual influencing factors such as age, gender, comorbidities and regional differences are taken into account. Through qualitative interviews with affected, acoustics and ENT doctors, both inhibiting and promoting influencing factors are to be uncovered.
In addition, a quantitative questionnaire is created in order to collect the usage behavior and the quality of hearing aid supply in a Germany -wide survey. The knowledge gained is then discussed in workshops in order to develop practical recommendations for action. The project will be funded with approximately 1.3 million euros for over two and a half years, and in the event of success, a practical supply concept is implemented in order to sustainably improve the situation of hearing -impaired people.Consortial partners of the project are important institutions, including the AOK Federal Association of Egbr, the Fliedner University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf gGmbH, the Aalen University of Applied Sciences, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and the University Hospital Erlangen. Your cooperation is intended to ensure that the findings are efficiently integrated into the supply practice.
