The links between existing and new structures as well as the ecological framework, which were determined in an ecological preliminary examination, are particularly taken into account. The main goals are the integration of existing highlights, the protection of the visual axes to the Rhine and the opening of the Rhine to Duisburg.
Overall, the city of Duisburg is striving to create a sustainable basic structure with a high level of stay and leisure quality. The future of the high field is therefore linked to the design and development of a new cultural center, which should address both the citizens and the visitors of the IGA.
