On the weekend of April 5 and April, 2025, the Duisburg police, in cooperation with several authorities, carried out a comprehensive focus on the main area that extended across the entire urban area. The Duisburg Citizens' and Ordinary Office, the main customs office in Duisburg, the Düsseldorf district government, the tax investigation and the Duisburg public prosecutor's office were involved in this campaign. The aim of the controls was in particular barbershops, tea stubes and venues, which in the past always got into focus due to irregular conditions.

At the beginning of the controls, a total of ten barbershops were checked on the morning of April 5. Of these, seven had to be closed due to significant defects, including the lack of entry in the craft role. A Turkish employee of one of the business tried to flee during the control, but was caught and is now in deportation. In addition, illegal drugs, specifically testosterone, were discovered in another barbershop, which led to a procedure for a violation of the Medicines Act.

In a café on Molbergstrasse in Buchholz, the officers found four illegal slot machines in a back room. The operator of the café is now faced with a criminal proceedings on suspicion of illegal gambling.

In the Marxloh district, the investigators came across the remains of a white powder on tables; However, a first search did not result in any narcotics. However, when the concession owner's apartment was searched for further search, a block of hashish, a shotgun and a sharp cartridge were secured. The operator is now being investigated for violating the Narcotics and Weapons Act.

Two preliminary arrests due to illegal stays and the enforcement of an arrest warrant are also among the results of the operation. The police emphasize that this increased commitment is an important contribution to combating undeclared work, illegal commercial operation and organized crime.

A total of five searches were carried out in the course of controls, two of them with the support of sniffer dogs. Eleven objects appeared that were ensured, including testosterone, explosive devices, illegal slot machines, ammunition and a weapon of shot. The police assess the operation as successful, and the joint project shows how important the cooperation between the various authorities is to ensure security in Duisburg.
